Test Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Position Location:  Company HQ in Suburban Philadelphia, PA

The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing test solutions that verify MOBILion’s products during development and in production. This includes analyzing requirements, creating and executing test plans, troubleshooting failures, as well as designing and maintaining custom hardware test systems. The Test Engineer will work closely with the engineering design teams to ensure systems and subsystems satisfy design requirements, and to implement any required test infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system functional requirements and derive verification test cases
  • Identify and implement solutions that maximize test coverage of hardware designs
  • Design, build, and maintain custom hardware test systems
  • Create and execute verification tests for all hardware systems and subsystems
  • Analyze test data and generate test reports
  • Troubleshoot hardware failures and participate in root cause investigations
  • Transfer validated test systems to manufacturing

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
  • 1+ years of experience working with hardware development or electronics test engineering
  • 1+ years of programming experience using Python, C/C++, or equivalent
  • Understanding of analog circuits, digital logic, and embedded systems
  • Understanding of metrology, sources of error, and testing best practices
  • Experience using electrical lab equipment includingpower supplies, signal generators, DAQs, etc
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work within the United States
  • Willing to relocate to the Chadds Ford, PA region

 

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience designing automated test systems
  • Experience designing analog circuits or embedded systems
  • Experience designing PCBs using Altium Designer
  • Understanding of computer networking, including TCP/IP
  • Familiarity with Product Development Process
  • Familiarity with Verification and Validation procedures
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as JAMA
  • Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence
