Pushing the Limits of High-Resolution Ion Mobility (HRIM) for Catechin Epimer Analysis
Pushing the Limits of High-Resolution Ion Mobility (HRIM) for Catechin Epimer Analysis
Frederick G. Strathmann, Julie Wushensky
This study investigates the application of High-Resolution Ion Mobility (HRIM) to analyze epimeric catechins in green tea extracts. The research demonstrates the benefits of incorporating HRIM as an orthogonal technique to Liquid Chromatography (LC) and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS). The use of collision cross section (CCS) measurements in HRIM provides greater confidence in compound identification and characterization. The findings highlight HRIM's ability to separate and classify epimers, offering deeper insights into the composition of green tea extracts and their potential health benefits.
