CFO of the Year Awards 2023: Craig Carra, MOBILion Systems

In his more than two decades in finance, Craig Carra has held a range of roles, including as an auditor, a corporate controller and treasurer, and today as a chief financial officer. He's held that title at several equity-backed companies - which he helped collectively raise nearly $200 million - including today at MOBILion Systems. Based in Chadds Ford, the biotechnology firm offers analytical instruments that can separate, identify and analyze molecules, which speeds up the process for biologic therapeutics, biomarker discoveries and diagnostic testing accuracy. In 2021, the firm raised a $60 million Series C led by D1 Capital, allowing it to double headcount to 80 and complete development of its first product - a structures for lossless ion manipulation, or SLIM-based, High-Resolution Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry platform.
