Glycoproteins—glycans attached to proteins—are ubiquitous in biological systems and their structure and function, determined by the glycosylation pattern, can contribute to disease states1, utilized as biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prognosis and have been shown to affect therapeutic monoclonal antibody (mAb) activity in a number of ways2,3. Additionally, glycosylation variation in patients can correlate with treatment outcomes. In order to optimize treatments and clinical trial outcomes, it is critically important to have the ability to identify glycosylation profiles in a high-throughput manner.
