Ashok R. Dongre, PhD

Ashok is the Senior Scientific Director and Head of Proteomics within the Discovery & Development Sciences organization at the research site of Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) in Cambridge, MA. He earned his BSc and MSc in Chemistry from the University of Mumbai and his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. His PhD research led to the formulation of the “Mobile Proton Model,” which elucidates peptide ion fragmentation mechanisms.

Over his 25-year tenure at BMS, Ashok and his team have focused on driving proteomics innovation to address challenges at the intersection of disease pathophysiology and biopharmaceutical research. Ashok has served on NIH and NIAA review panels and is a peer reviewer for several scientific journals.

He has published several peer-reviewed scientific publications and delivered numerous presentations. He holds three issued US patents, each with foreign equivalents. Ashok is a recipient of the prestigious BMS Ondetti & Cushman President’s Innovation Award for the development of the Enterprise Level Proteomics Informatics platform at BMS.
